Urban Infill Columbus - Buggyworks
Posted on August 09, 2010 by Tadd Miller
The Buggyworks urban infill project breaks the mold of the more mundane NRI residential developments prominent in downtown Columbus, OH. NRI has no doubt made an incredible positive impact in downtown Columbus, and the whole area would not be what it is today without NRI. However, it is nice to see the attention to detail and craftsmanship in a project like Buggyworks, in lieu of the more production methodology to development. Kyle's historic rehab maintains much of the old character of this building, including the cross beams, large industrial feel and stacks of its industrial heritage. The inside is impeccable, with its exposed brick, heavy timbers, and spiral ductwork. Not only offering residential condominiums, but there are great offices on the first floor, a great place to live and work. Still got to figure out the play part, but the adjacency to the stadiums and such (much in part to NRI) give is proximity to the play part as well. Hopefully Kyle can get the second phase going soon, as this would help complete the connection to the rest of the development taking place in the adjacent neighborhoods. This is a must see project for infill developers who want to see a well crafted project.
