Suburban Lifestyle 18 Percent Cost Premium Over Urban
Posted on July 09, 2010 by Tadd Miller
All those considering living in the suburbs vs. the downtown area of your city need to read The New York Times article by Tara Siegel Bernard which outlines the math of living in the suburbs vs. the City. This just further cements Milhaus belief in the future of mixed use and urban redevelopment as the future of residential development. In order to read the whole article, check it out at High-Rise, or House With Yard? Although there are a significant number of factors that make this study unscientific, including the fact that this is an analysis of New York City residents in the $175,000 annual income range, it at least notes the basic concerns that everyone needs to go through in their city to analyze their lifestyle choice. It is nice to start seeing the press regularly discussing what those of us urban dwellers have known for a long time!
