Milhaus at The Greene
Posted on July 08, 2010 by David Leazenby
Milhaus is on a two-day company retreat at The Greene in Beavercreek, Ohio. We took a break today to walk around a few blocks and found a great mixed-use atmosphere. With a live concert going on in the Town Square, people strolling the shops, and residents hanging out on their balconies; it was a very lively, yet comfortable environment. We can see why its the place the be around Dayton on a Thursday evening. Steiner + Associates opened the first phase in 2006 and it now includes over 1 million square feet of retail and office space. In addition, there are 188 flats located above the retail and 18 townhomes serving as transition uses along side streets. We think its a great execution of mixed use and urban design in a suburban context. The blocks are the right size, the streets feel right, and the architecture works. It’s the details that matter.
