Crazy times brought great projects

hudson-exterior-300x225Without the craze of the financial markets over the last ten years, many of the mixed use and urban infill projects that a lot of developers have built wouldn’t have happened. There are some incredible projects in various stages of completion all over the country today. We believe that some of these projects will recover their values more quickly than their suburban counterparts, and hopefully some lenders will realize the benefit of mixed use and urban infill projects. Indeed, many cities can thank the financial markets for what they were able to accomplish in their downtowns and neighborhoods during this unusual time period in America’s development. I know I am thankful, because my neighborhood on the east edge of downtown Indianapolis would have never been built, and I would not be one block from my bank, office and grocery store. Going forward, I hope we all can return to basic fundamentals and develop projects where they make sense and with the right products for the market. The economic health of our cities depend on it.
